Kelvin Heights Residence, Queenstown

This 500m2 home in Kelvin Heights provided some unique challenges due to the steep, sloping site. The house spread over 4 storeys and required a complex system of retaining walls to support suspended slabs, load transfer beams and steel portal frames to support an open plan living area on the ground floor and lower levels. The building is extensively clad with schist stonework and this together with all construction materials were craned into site. Hadleys also detailed the external wall and site drainage, and carried out full construction observation during the build.
