Littles Road Upgrade

A section of Littles Road in the Wakatipu Basin was reconstructed in 2012. The previous surface had deteriorated due to low shear strength and moisture susceptibility. Due to a short construction season the project had to be completed in a compressed timeframe. The works included pavement design, foam bitumen stabilisation design, seal selection, road geometry design including vertical and horizontal alignment improvements within the existing road corridor, culvert and drainage upgrades and improvements to existing driveway access geometry. The project included full documentation for the contract, tendering of the works, tender evaluation and supervision of the contractor undertaking the works.
